Psoriasis is a chronic autoimmune disorder that affects the skin, causing red, scaly, and itchy patches. It is a non-contagious and hereditary disease that is caused by an overactive immune system. In this article, we will discuss the causes, spread, precautions, diagnosis, and treatment of psoriasis.

    Causes of Psoriasis:

The exact cause of psoriasis is still unknown, but it is believed to be a result of the immune system attacking healthy skin cells. Certain risk factors can trigger the development of psoriasis, including genetics, stress, infections, medications, and injuries to the skin.

    Spread of Psoriasis:

Psoriasis is not contagious, but it can be passed down genetically. It affects both males and females equally and can develop at any age. Psoriasis can spread to different parts of the body, including the scalp, face, elbows, knees, and fingers.

    Precautions for Psoriasis:

There are various precautions that people with psoriasis can take to manage their condition. These include:

    – Moisturizing the skin regularly to prevent dryness and itching
    – Avoiding triggers like stress, smoking, and alcohol
    – Eating a healthy and balanced diet
    – Keeping the skin clean and dry to avoid infections
    – Protecting the skin from injury and trauma
    – Avoiding harsh soaps and perfumes

    Diagnosis of Psoriasis:

A dermatologist can diagnose psoriasis through a physical examination and medical history. In some cases, a skin biopsy may be required to confirm the diagnosis. Once diagnosed, the severity of psoriasis can be determined, and a treatment plan can be developed.

    Treatment of Psoriasis:

There is currently no cure for psoriasis, but there are various treatment options available to manage the symptoms and reduce the risk of complications. These include:

    – Topical medications like corticosteroids and vitamin D analogues
    – Phototherapy, which involves exposing the skin to ultraviolet light
    – Systemic medications like biologics and retinoids
    – Natural remedies like aloe vera, fish oil, and turmeric

    Homeo Treatment of Psoriasis

Homeopathic treatment aims to alleviate the symptoms of psoriasis and improve the overall health and well-being of the patient.

There are several homeopathic remedies that can be used to treat psoriasis, including the following:

    1. Graphites: This remedy is beneficial for people who have dry and scaly skin with cracks and eruptions that bleed easily.

    2. Arsenicum album: This remedy is helpful for people who have itchy and burning skin with scaling and redness.

    3. Sepia: This remedy is useful for women who have psoriasis before or after menopause.

    4. Sulphur: This remedy is effective for people who have red, scaly, and itchy skin that worsens with heat.

    5. Rhus tox: This remedy is helpful for people who have red, swollen, and itchy skin that improves with movement.

    6. Kali arsenicum: This remedy is useful for people with psoriasis with patches that are covered with silvery scales.

Consultation with a homeopath is necessary to determine the appropriate remedy and dosage for each individual patient. Homeopathic treatment can be used alongside regular medical treatment for psoriasis.

In conclusion, psoriasis is a chronic autoimmune disorder that affects the skin and can cause significant discomfort and social stigma. However, with proper medical care and self-care, people with psoriasis can manage their symptoms and lead a healthy and fulfilling life.
